For regular employees, who work 8 to 10 hours a day, exercise is usually an indulgence. After a tiring day at the office, most hurry home to fulfill other personal obligations before finally crashing on the bed.

If You Can See It, You Can Walk Over It

As the workplace become more and more reliant on technology, you also end up being tied to your desk for longer periods of time. Obviously, this is not a good thing for you and you have to make a conscious effort to find reason to get up.

No reason? Well, instead of calling up or emailing another colleague, how about skipping over to his desk especially if he is just a couple of seats away from you? Or, you can choose to use the printer located farther from your desk.

Lunch Hour Well Spent

Your lunch break should not be spent entirely on eating if you are looking to lose some weight. It would be a good idea to walk around first or even hit a gym for 30 minutes before having your meal. If this is out of the question, you can always take your lunch outside or choose a restaurant which requires you to walk a couple of blocks.

The Staircase is Your Best Friend

The stairwell is not only your secret spot when you need to take a personal call or have a ciggie break. You will find that they can help you meet your weight loss goals. Take the stairs as frequently as you can especially if you just need to move a couple of floors up or down instead of taking the elevator. When you go home, try to get off at another floor and take the stairs the rest of the way.

When in the office, make sure you wear comfortable shoes which will allow you to move about with ease, especially if you have decided to heed the suggestions listed above. Or, you can always keep a pair of rubber shoes or flats and change into them when you need to.
